A Call for Bond Reform & Putting Victims First

A Call for Bond Reform & Putting Victims First

On Wednesday, April 30, Crime Stoppers of Houston stood alongside Governor Greg Abbott, grieving families, victim advocates, and law enforcement to call for urgent bond reform. Among those present were Chuck Cook, Lisa Calloway, Aimee Castillo, Tonya Olson, Lourdes Medina, Marisol Ramos, Tracey Sullivan, Patricia Montemayor, and Melanie Infinger—families forever changed by a system that allowed repeat violent offenders back onto our streets.

Our data is clear: repeat violent offenders are cycling through a broken system with deadly consequences. We’re proud of the progress made through SB6 — but more must be done.

Together, we must build a system that values life, that protects communities, and that refuses to allow violent offenders to cycle endlessly through a broken revolving door.
